I give up

Okay okay I admit it. I've been feeling discouraged.

Life seems big and unmanageable right now.

People have failed my expectations

I have failed my expectations

there is so much to do: with missions, with life, with ministry. Sometimes I feel like it's unending.

Today after feeling very disappointed, I was thinking I give up!  Really this isn't what "i signed up for"

then I realized: I HAD signed up for this. I have been asking God to do above my (our) abilities then try to fulfill them on my own.  How silly!

So today I give up.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Eph 3:20-21

  2. Been there so so many times I cannot even remember how many times adversity came against me/us from every direction and especially from those unexpected. Spring - this is where we 'know' the call is real because is wells up from deep within and draws us forward. We become strengthened by the Words of our Lord and press forward no matter what stands before us. This is what Paul was telling those who tried to keep him from going on to Jerusalem - He had to go if he was to follow the Lord and fulfill his purpose upon the earth.
Remain steadfast and sure in your resolve; let go of all else and just go with Him - He will lead you, He will comfort you, He will sustain you and you will be as He is.
    Love you <3

  3. Thanks Spring. Thanks for sharing and encouraging all of us to depend on God to do the impossible. That verse from Ephesians 3:20-21 has encouraged me since I came to Belize. I am happy to see it is giving you encouragement, too. Another verse that I cling to when I feel like giving up is Hebrews 12:1-3 "Let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith".
I like the way it is written in The Message. It feels fresh:
"Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!"

As you prepare, Satan will continue to give you doubts about your choice, but listen and watch because God will also give you signs and affirmation that you are doing His will. Peace,
    Nancy
